Alright guys (and gals!) I have a legit question. No bashing please :) Here goes: I am about to get my hands on a 88 GT with an engine bored over to a 306 and a B303 cam in it along with a T5 tranny that was custom built for it and an exhaust setup already on it. This car has sentimental value to it (Im not going to go in to detail there, but it was a very meaningful car to me!) Engine, transmission and exhaust are about the only good things out of it. Ill be forced to scrap what I dont need off of it. The car will be FREE. I have the tools needed and obviously I have a donor car for what needs to happen. I am wanting to get a 2000-2004 new edge body style V6 and swap the old foxs engine, tranny, and exhaust over. I again have my reasons for this. What do I need specifically for this? I keep reading Ill need a different bell housing, but if Im using the complete drivetrain off the fox, does that still apply? Will I need to swap the computer? Obviously harnesses will need to be improvised. **please note: I AM NOT doing this for power gains. I am NOT doing this to build a race car. I am doing this because both the fox and the new edge mustangs mean a lot to me and it would be an enjoyable project and one I can pass to my son (its his fathers 88 gt and his fathers first car). The fox is NOT worth salvaging, the radiator is shot from being dumped in a ditch, the fan is out of a lincoln continental and is hotwired in, the body is in terrible condition and doesnt even line up. I want to do a new edge V6 because the vin will register as a V6 so cheaper insurance and my first mustang (and the one I am most fond of) was a new edge. Before you tell me this is a silly project and worthless, I am aware that the V6 stock puts out just as much power. Power is not my concern. Just need to know what Ill need to swap and what parts Ill need to hunt down if any. Thanks!
