Alright, here is final proof for any that still believe the birther argument about President Obama. While his father is not an American by birth, his mother is. Ann Dunham was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 29, 1942, her father served in the US Army in WWII. Under the United States Nationality Law, even if Obama was not born in the United States, he is a citizen as the qualifications for automatic citizenship for a foreign birth between December 24, 1952 and November 14, 1986 (the President was born in 1961) to one American citizen parent are as follows: 1) The persons parents were married at time of birth (Ann Dunham had married Barack Obama Sr. 7 months before Obamas birth, note that it says time of birth, not time of conception), 2) One of the persons parents was a U.S. citizen when the person was born, 3) The citizen parent lived at least ten years in the United States before the childs birth and 4) A minimum of 5 of these 10 years in the United States were after the citizen parents 14th birthday. Furthermore, not even the Republican National Convention ever formally challenged his citizenship standing outright, either in his inital run for the Illinois State Senate in 1996, his re-elections in 1998 and 2002, his 2004 election to the US Senate, or the 2008 Presidential election. Also, for those of you screaming that he is a Muslim terrorist, here are two direct quotes, the first from an interview in Christianity Today: I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. and the second from his September 27, 2010 statement on his religious views: Im a Christian by choice. My family didnt—frankly, they werent folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didnt raise me in the church. So I came to my Christian faith later in life, and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead—being my brothers and sisters keeper, treating others as they would treat me.
