Always been v suspicious of Christian nationalism & the idea of a Christian country (& essentially resentful of the idea of Christendom). Early Christians seemed to speak a lot of allegiance to The Way or Kingdom of God which was in conflict to the idea of allegiance to a nation or Caesar. I would say I have much more in common with a left-wing French Christian with regard to values than a right-wing British atheist.
