Always being after the event, we watched Broadchurch, series 1, on Demand over the last few nights. Wreckon its the most moving piece of drama Ive seen over the last few years. David Tennant re-emrges from the gimmick of being Dr Who(not that I mind Dr Who) to be excellence in his understated troubled DCI. Olivia Coleman is a modern gem. Such moving portrayals of the darker reccesses of seemingly normal people. But the character that hit me the most was the old fella running the news agents. A sweet gentle guy with what everyone assumes to be a pervert past Turns out he fell in love with a girl just the wrong side of legal, goes to prison for a year, and then they still get married. He announces this to the waiting baying public that they had a child and the child was killed in a car accident. Joe public still snarled for his blood and sprayed his car with paedo. The sadest thing of all is it reflects how people act on mass. Very thought provoking drama. Well done Beeb..
