Am I correct in assuming that the proliferation of on-line petitions, even for noble causes, are watering down the effect of petitions? I get several each week and many are causes I support, and Ive signed several, but I cant help feeling that those to whom they are directed, the turkey farmers and the polluters and the dolphin slaughterers, just wave them off as yet more on-line, take 2 minutes for your cause, feel good efforts of the non-committed. The internet gives us all a voice, but it gives each voice less effect.
