Am I on the peace side or war side? The republican side or democrat side? Gun control or no control? I dont honestly know. What I do know is that people are full of shit and easily persuaded and distracted. The only side I take is in whatever truth I can find, and its clear that choosing one extreme over another only leads to more and more confusion. Fear is the greatest product humanity can sell, and we have honed our skill at selling it for thousands of years. I opt out. Yes I love living where I live and I respect people that fight to keep our tentative world on an even keele. But I know for a fact that people fight for all sorts of truths and causes and with so much disinformation in our world who knows if they were fighting the right thing? One of my favorite parabols from the christian tradition was "when the devil comes he will come bearing the olive branch." The olive branch.. A sign of rightiousness and peace. To me it is a story but that doesnt make it untrue. Even the best men can stand behind horror if the horror is properly sold to him as a good investment.
