Am I the only person thinking the Scottish Independence referendum - TopicsExpress

Am I the only person thinking the Scottish Independence referendum dont amount to a hill of beans either way? If its a yes vote, what are we going to do? Take up arms against the Scots? Of course not. Well sit down with them and politely figure out a way to make the two economies carry right on working together. Why would we do anything else? Well probably share the pound because its the obvious solution. Or maybe well all go into the Euro, which didnt seem such a bad idea not that long ago. Well divide up the oil, and the debt, and therell be a bit of grumbling, but itll get done. People keep whining about constitutional issues, but weve dealt with them before and well deal with them again. Anyway, thatd be Englands problem, and English electoral reform is long overdue. Some flags might have to be redesigned, and the great and good will work long into the night deciding what to call the United Kingdom in future. Big deal. As for Trident, itd have to move. So what? Maybe the English would take a different view of this ridiculous white elephant if it was located in (say) Southampton. Much too close to the Home Counties for comfort. Whether theres a manned border or not, Scotland will still be our neighbour, and still share this island of Great Britain, and well still have to work together. Possibly a little more respectfully than in the past. Or they vote no, and get a load more devolved powers, and the effect is precisely the same Give or take a flag or two.
