Amazing that the house owner allowed it to get this bad. I`m actually allergic to wasp stings, and a wasp nest in my garden stung me twice when cutting a hedge which led to breathing difficulties for at least 30 minutes. It was so worrying for me that at one point I actually considered performing a tracheotomy on myself as my throat had swollen up to such a degree that I thought I might not be able to breathe. Thankfully, it started to ease and returned to normal. Whether I would have had the nerve to do this to myself is another thing. But boy, did it frighten me. So on one side whilst I believe all creatures have the right to survive, I now destroy with poisons any nests in my own garden. Self-survival is at times cruel. But now I have no hesitation. Fortunately the humble bumble has never presented such an issue for me.
