American artist Hunt Slonem in addition to being an artist is also a collector of furniture, artwork and mansions. He frequents flea markets, auctions and antique shops for American Gothic furniture among other things that he likes to group in multiples. The first of his properties that we will explore is Cordts mansion in Kingston, NY, in the second Empire style including 30 rooms. A natural colorist he prefers saturated hues as backgrounds for displaying art. Colors completely change and lift up the spaces, particularly older spaces. Light makes a lot of difference too, and I try to use a lot of crystal, which has a very uplifting vibration.
