An Adelaide (South Australia) hotelier who offered rooms for free to residents affected by devastating bushfires is reaping the rewards and proving the value of a kind gesture. “To all those affected by the fires — if you have been, or need to be evacuated from your home and have no where to stay, we have some rooms available FREE of charge for you to stay in if needed,” The Hampshire Hotel Adelaide owner James Robertson posted on Facebook on Saturday. He said he never expected the response he received. “We’ve had people from overseas who have seen the post and commented and we’ve had people bringing in food and clothes and donations. The post received more than 10,000 likes, was shared more than 3000 times and helped put the boutique hotel on the interstate travel map. “We just wanted to do something to help, we didn’t expect this.” The hotel is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday to assist families affected by the fires. ~ Source: news.au Full article: goo.gl/xjfsjg
