An Iddo Benzeevi Timeline: 1962 - Iddo is born in Israel supposedly to a wealthy family and later educated in Europe. 1983 - Iddo immigrates to the United States and moves the LA area, notably Sherman Oaks. 1985 - Iddo forms Benzeevi-Cohen and other land development companies to gather investment to buy 1,000 acres east of Redlands Boulevard for housing development. 1986 - Benzeevi-Cohen announces the logistics project, the Moreno International Trade Center complete with 50,000 jobs and a 10,000 ft. runway. 1987 - Iddo speaks to officials at San Bernardino International Airport to develop a high-tech research facility, a sports arena and entertainment complex on former Norton AFB land. He even claims to be developing an amusement park with Star Wars creator George Lucas. It is rejected due to lack of financing. 1989 - Iddo announces the 10,000 unit Moreno Highlands project to build retail, community centers, schools, and housing to create 20-30,000 jobs. The project is abandoned as the real estate bubble bursts. 1990 - Iddo approaches San Bernardino International Airport to develop a series of warehouses on former military land from Norton AFB. 1991 - Iddo and his brother Benni invest in a condominium development in Orange County that ends in foreclosure. 1994 - Plans for the Moreno International Trade Center are abandoned as the Cold War ends and the project is blocked by the FAA for being too close to March ARB. 1994: Iddo Benzeevi is sued by the City of Moreno Valley for back owed payments regarding construction costs for a drainage canal near the Moreno Highlands project. 1999: Benzeevi establishes the Aquabella Specific Plan for land he intents to purchase along Nason Street. Early 2000s - Several logistics buildings are planned in the current location of the Skechers distribution center in an industrial park project called Suelo before Highland Fairview incorporated. 2004 - Iddo Benzeevi purchases 700 acres from the UCR Research Station in Moreno Valley to building house. This property will later become Aquabella. 2005 - Iddo forms the land development firm Highland Fairview for housing development. 2007 - Construction on the million dollar home development, Aquabella begins. Iddo also becomes head of an economic action committee that promotes the development of Rancho Belago. Plans are also announced to restart Moreno Highlands. 2009 - Construction starts on the Skechers distribution center in Highland Fairview Corporate Park. 2010 - Both Moreno Highlands and Aquabella are abandoned as the real estate market bubble bursts. 2011 - Iddo announces plans for a medical/research campus on former Aquabella land promising $4.3 billion in area investment. 2012 - Iddo announces plans to develop the 3,000 acre World Logistics Center promising 20,000 jobs. 2013 - Highland Fairviews offices are raided by the FBI and IRS as part of a Federal corruption probe involving Moreno Valleys city hall. 2013 - Iddo proposes a plan to redevelop Banning Municipal Airport into the Morongo Intermodal Center. 2013 - Iddo and his brother Benni make a plan to redevelop Tulare Medical Center in Tulare, California. 2013 - City of Banning rejects proposal to redevelop local airport into Morongo Intermodal Center. 2014 - Highland Fairview spends over $300,000 fighting the recall of Moreno Valley mayor Tom Owings, which ultimately saw him removed from office in June of that year. 2014: Job creation numbers for the World Logistics Center vary between 10-20,000 positions at build out on different promotional literature. 2014 - Highland Fairview spends much of the year trying to gather signatures supporting the World Logistics Center to be used for the revised environmental impact report and acquire zone changes needed to form a specific plan for over 3,000 acres in that area.
