An OConnor Method teacher training seminar coming up next month in Portland, OR. Learn how to teach American music so your students can be in the orchestra sections as well as learn to improvise, write, arrange, lead a band, compose, jam and perhaps be a classical string player with your own original ideas! We can do it all, and the OConnor Method orchestra track is in place as well so we continue to nurture string orchestra while building the rest of our skills. Lets make the 21st century string player. Using American music and materials with its, diversity, 400 years of literature, styles, creativity, improvisation, and entrepreneur skills are all greatly needed going forward - or string playing is going to continually get left behind, year by year... It is time for the musicians to make the move, and teachers can help the future leaders and musical geniuses to this end. But we have to give them a chance by not giving them the same limited experience that most of us had received when we were young. We sincerely hope that the OConnor Method will do just that!
