An Update on Obamacare from an Agent who actually Sells Health Insurance, For those of you who want to know whats Really Happening. I have a Client who is a Doctor, he has a Family of 4. He earns over $180,000 but he has enough Tax Deductions to get his Adjusted Income under $94,000. So, he is going to get Assistance from the Government to pay for his Health Insurance. Is that what you thought Obamacare was going to do? The 28 year old client, Even After his Government Subsidy he will Not be able to afford the $400 premium, so he will Choose Not Buy Insurance, he Will Pay a Penalty and remain uninsured, and remain a problem for the System. Obamacare didnt help him at all. In fact, it penalizes him. How about a 3rd example, how about ME. I have a Fantastic plan already, I have a $250 deductible, after that I pay only 10% of the bills to a Maximum cost of $2,500! which means I would need $25,000 in Medical Care before I ever spend $2,500 of my own money. THE PROBLEM? I cant keep the plan (even though the President Promised that I could). I now pay $243 for my insurance, but I wont be able to keep it. The CLOSEST PLAN to mine will cost $500 per month! and it IS NOT as good as mine. Also, as a Single person my income isnt Low Enough to Qualify for Government Assistance. I guess I should find a Woman with 2 kids to Marry, and find Thousands of dollars in Deductions! And people tell me that as an Agent, Obamacare must be good for you. Oh Yeah! A Doctor gets government assistance, the broke 28 year old still is uninsured, and I will Lose my Plan. Bravo to the Whole Democratic Party. Bravo! When the Obamacare discussion began, they polled people WHO DID HAVE INSURANCE, 87% of them were Happy with what they had! Why didnt they just find a way to insure the Uninsured and leave everyone else on the plans they had? Im starting to understand the philosophy of our President, If it Aint Broke, Break it ! Then Fix It !
