An ancient and honorable rule in the game of cultural acquisition - TopicsExpress

An ancient and honorable rule in the game of cultural acquisition : "Possession is 90% of the game". That explains why I keep buying books even though the reading centers of my brain have long since atrophied. I absorb the goodness by osmosis, just running my fingers over the covers and down the spines. Hence my recent purchase of two Carl Hiaasen omnibus volumes, three novels in each one. Who is Carl Hiaasen, you ask? He writes a column for the Miami Herald, and is reputed to be funny. The books sound like they will be a hoot. As a relatively new Floridian I feel hugely patriotic for buying a "Florida Author". I got the books used on Amazon ($1.60 for the books; $8 for shipping) so Hiaasen will not get rich off this transaction. After I have fondled the books for a while (osmosis in action!) I will deliver my book report.
