An appeal in memory of Sue Butterworth I have been wondering - TopicsExpress

An appeal in memory of Sue Butterworth I have been wondering what could I do that would be a partial recognition of Sue Butterworth’s contribution to the Law School and so many of the law students whose lives she touched. For many Sue was the person you went for information, pointed you in the direction of various classrooms, lecturers offices and reminded you when assignments were due or results out. For almost 15 years she served a fundamental role in the life of the law school, its students and staff. I have launched a small appeal, with the support of Sue’s children Alison and Karl, to fund a large display screen above the Reception area and a plaque in Sue’s memory. Alison thought Sue would get a kick out of something in her honour that would be a daily help to students, staff and visitors and something she would have loved to have had access to when she was in the Aquarium. As many of you may know Sue was instrumental in helping me getting the Law School Honour Boards started and she was always my keenest supporter in trying to ensure we had a strong and connected alumni. If you wish to make a tax deductible donation to the Sue Butterworth Appeal go to the UTAS Foundation Giving page at https://utasalumni.org.au/donate Choose OTHER as the Fundand in the comments box write Sue Butterworth Appeal For those who might want to know why I am so keen to see something remembering Sue’s time at the Law School see informationandaccess.blogspot.au/2012/09/eulogy-for-sue-butterworth-delivered.html If there are surplus funds (my intention is to go for the biggest screen I can get) after the screen and the plaque we will use them to help strengthen and build the UTAS alumni network. This is really only a small but important gesture to mark the important role Sue played in the life of the law school and the impact upon so many students but I think she would have been pleased with it.
