An elderly man has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a collision between a mobility scooter and a taxi in Goulburn today. About 1.30pm (Tuesday 6 May 2014), a 97-year-old man was riding his mobility scooter along Hillview Road, when he was involved in a collision with a taxi at the intersection of Cityview Road. Following the crash, the elderly man was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital with serious injuries to his head, neck and ribs. The male taxi driver was uninjured, but was also taken to Goulburn Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing. Police from Goulburn Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for any witnesses who haven’t yet provided a statement to come forward.
