An email I just sent to the Speaker of the NY City Council -- - TopicsExpress

An email I just sent to the Speaker of the NY City Council -- which body just denied enough signatures on a petition to keep that petition from affecting a ballot initiative this Nov. in NYC: Dear Ms. Melissa Mark-Viverito Your move to attempt to block the High-Rise Safety Initiative from appearing on the ballot by falsely challenging thousands of submitted signatures, and making other baseless legal arguments against the petition, is reprehensible. Granted, you are likely just doing what you are told to do by your superiors – not that that is an excuse. The only “wild fantasy” involved in this situation is a skyscraper collapsing from fire. The first and only time a steel-framed skyscraper has ever fallen due to small office fires – the NIST stated reason for the collapse – was WTC7 on 9/11/01. It had never happened before and has not since. This collapse needs to be investigated again – a real investigation, not a cover up like the NIST study with its secret (read: bogus) computer analysis – and the High-Rise Safety Initiative remains a good start. Contrary to absurd reasons given for why it shouldn’t go forward – it would be “expensive” to do and it is “frivolous” -- the Initiative is nearly free to do and whether it is, or is not, frivolous is not part of the whole initiative idea. Ballot initiatives are a tool for the people’s concerns to be heard NOT the government’s, which are already typically 100% the concern of what goes on in government bodies. This is precisely the kind of tool that the ballot initiative is about: hearing the concerns of the average citizen that are being ignored by government bodies. It would be illuminating for you to watch a 15-minute video Solving the Mystery of WTC 7, which features more than a dozen experts, who harbor not wild fantasies, but irrefutable scientific evidence about collapse of WTC7. The url is youtube/watch?v=hZEvA8BCoBw Please do the right thing, which in this case is to look at the signatures on the petition once again and find that you may have “accidentally” invalidated many that were in fact valid. Otherwise a lawsuit will likely be filed on this point and an impartial look at these signatures could prove very embarrassing for you and your staff. Thanks for taking the time to read this email – if in fact you did. James Schaeffer Rosendale, NY Her email address is [email protected] if anyone else wants to put in their two cents on this issue.
