An epitaph to misery, Via Strength by James Darwin Smith II Misery, A safe haven to those in great pain Something trusted more than love Because it always still remains, there Here lies a negative notion Brought by the past of yesterday’s tears Eyes can only swim for a short while As the deep waters flows ever so rogue Riven through a sad then happy illusion Confusion, of why pain still remains Of that brief moment feeling exposed Only to close quickly, back again What is there to do? Is it pride that keeps time ticking too slowly? Over indulged in a lackadaisical frustration Wishing it would all just be let go Pain, Numbness is even worst Not feeling a thing is a tragedy To the soul wanting to feel the flesh’s inner core And now what has it all come to? Misery, I never want to hide within you again Such an imprisoned life I lived Wanting to waste away In a world of personal chaos Within the boundaries of my skin And now, Misery, I never want to feel you again But I know, Life is not perfect You will come back strong to fight me Yet, this time, I will not lose against you, This time, I plan to win! Misery, you never realized my own strength Before I let you in, neither did I Look at me now!
