An excellent topic coming up with Franklin Discoverers: Wednesday 17 July ARC Visit—Sustainability and Biosecurity Franklin: The Centre 10.30 am (1.5 hours) $2 pp to cover room hire We are taught at school to re-cycle our paper and plastic and try to encourage birds and bees into our school but why is it so important to look after what we have? Why does it matter? What impact has humans had on NZ and where do we go from here given the damage we may have already done? What can we do now? We have tapped into a fantastic resource within the ARC and have an experienced educator coming to discuss the concept of sustainability and biosecurity. It will involve interactive puzzles and a neat thought provoking concept to inspire our gifted kids to think about the world beyond themselves. It may be the start of a new passion!
