Ahab following Moby Dick to mutual oblivion, the nature of obsession. No choice. Journal entry of Charlie Parker 11/14/15 Dear Journal its been a while, A rare rainy day in Los Angeles........... ‘I’ve come to talk to you again,‘ where I slip my petition in the cracks of these pages like a wailing wall, hopefully the next page resolves my spout....... Its funny I’ve regarded you as a trusted steed, like the kind that accompanied Don Quixote on his travels. But Rocinante? No? I must confess measured surprise at the term ‘cradle Episcopalian’ its like keys to the kingdom as birth rite. I confess my ambivalence at going to church and belonging.... Where does resistance come from..what is this thing....is it my spiritual unruliness..my defiant spirit? Knee jerk reaction? My lack of submission.When the disciples got into church management and policy I feel they screwed it up. Sometimes I feel like a runaway slave following the north star with the hounds of heaven on my trail.
