An exciting day-after here on Vinalhaven: 1) I couldnt open the bathroom door from the inside--the antique knob had come loose. The rest of the household was up, but I didnt know that. Turns out tweezers worked just fine. 2) I dropped my baby aspirin into the water glass and, although I could swirl it around in water, it remained stuck to the bottom when I swallowed the water. Solution: flush the glass to overflowing. 3) Furnace off; oil tank empty. Local service people very nice and prompt the morning after. Thats one of many reasons why this is such a special place.
