An interesting tidbit in the 100 Years Ago section of our Yesteryears column in the Galva News that goes on news stands Thursday: The auditorium of the Congregational church was crowded Tuesday afternoon with women eager to learn more of their newly acquired right of suffrage. Mrs. P. E. Tovey, a prominent club woman and social betterment worker of Galesburg, was the principal speaker at the meeting. The women of Galva were urged to organize and get out the largest possible vote in the coming township election April 7.
