An open apology to all attendees: 1.) I am sorry the game room - TopicsExpress

An open apology to all attendees: 1.) I am sorry the game room was smaller and had less stuff. I was under a microscope after 2013, and I implore all who spoke with me to voice your concerns either on the Official 2014 Feedback Thread or in the Feedback thread in Video Gaming once I make it. 2.) The entrants to the Pokemon tournament. It was late because without me knowing, the assistant to a trusted vendor decided he just didnt want to run it. I am sorry. 3.) There was a person who said we had to much empty space, and others who said not enough. This past Thursday was our largest open yet. We did not expect to be full in the first 5 minutes. We had 15 to 20 foot aisle ways, and it was truly shoulder to shoulder. 4.) It sucks having to say this, but to those angry about people not sharing games. Say something. Say you got next. Especially of fighting games. I remember old arcades too, and you used to have a quarter or stood up for yourself. Watching a pair of players go to town doesnt get you in. Many people come to gaming just to watch others. 5.) I am sorry someone felt what we had was less than half. This is not true. In fact in 2013, the room was too dark and poorly designed. It had too many choke points, etc. We had more than 2/3 of what 2013 was. I planned out every dollar to the T for most attendees entertained. 6.) To those that enjoy casual gaming. It is a delicate balance that we weave. Some attendees expect us to provide a better than MLG/LCS/Major experience. We are obviously light years from that, but it doesnt stop people from wanting. Each section experiences some issue due to tournaments. PCs suffer all weekend because those playing tournaments want to practice with their team and the equipment. Smash suffers because they are our biggest tournaments each year. Casuals suffer because we only have so much budget for equipment, so games are swapped for more pool stations. Tournaments suffer because tournament popularity is on the rise. There are so many factors that stress each aspect of the room that push and pull in popularity. 7.) We had a skeleton crew for staff this year compared to years past. What I do want to say is that this is the smoothest year we have had logistically. 8.) I am sorry the rooms were separated. It was a top brass thing (along with budget) that had to be done at the time. I have more, but conplague is killing my brain. What I can say is I knew about most of the issues months before the convention happened. What I need from all that care is to post. Each and every word you say does have a direct impact. I have no backing without attendee support. Thank you for baring with what was obviously a restructure year. The whole time, I was praying for 2015 to be here. Please put down ALL your issues in the Youmacon forums so that I can get your voices heard, even if you had a great experience aside from a few missing games. It is like voting... If you dont weigh in, I cant make it happen.
