An open letter to all students of CLC The elections concluded - TopicsExpress

An open letter to all students of CLC The elections concluded yesterday with a disappointing verdict but i take heart from the fact that we have been successful over the past month in debunking the myth that you only get votes if you have a lobby backing you or you spend unimaginably large amounts of money. The 260 odd people who voted for me rejected the conventional college politics and i can only hope that these people have encouraged others to take this initiative we started to its logical conclusion next year. The results have also been disappointing because we have entrusted the union to a person who has cheated his way throughout these elections. This person at different points of this campaign has crossed all limits of decency and shown to us that he is willing to stoop down to any level for personal gain. From crossing expenditure limits to violating the code of conduct by campaigning outside the poll booth, to shamelessly parading around a person he paid off the day before, this person has done a great disservice to the idea of a student representative as he has behaved like a total thug. A large number of people were fooled, coerced or bought into voting for him but that does not take away from the fact that the Union has been formed relying on the morals of a very unscrupulous person. I have been encouraged by the response of the students and promise them that even though i might not have become a part of the union i will still try to make sure that i help to make the institution of the union strong and will always be on the alert to prevent these people from destroying it. Thank you again Regards Saaduzzaman
