An update on yesterdays video: its looking more likely that the best chance for heavy rain with this next system will set up well south of the Upstate. This will siphon off some of the moisture for us, so our totals will be more moderate. Southern areas will likely see more rain than areas farther north. The graphics show an estimate of what is expected in the Southeast tonight through Monday afternoon. Since the forecast trend has been gradually lowering rain totals in the western Carolinas, it would not be surprising if that trend continues with some of us seeing lower totals than depicted here. The biggest takeaway is that a heavy rain threat for our area no longer appears to be much of a problem. The other note is that exactly how much rain we see will be in some flux until radar lights up and we can start to see the trends. Well gradually see rain chances increase overnight, with our highest chances occurring Monday. Clouds will keep us cooler than the past couple of days...many may struggle to reach 70. Rain chances decrease Monday night, with Tuesday looking milder and mainly dry!
