And HERE it is: NEW discoveries of a group of previously unseen tattoos on the Icemans torso bringing his total tattoo count to 61! Happy to see Marco et al. citing my 2012 book Magical Tattoos and Scarification: Spiritual Skin featuring Colin Dales Otzi Experiment that proved tattooing of acupuncture points could produce a sustained therapeutic effect. Although this is not stated in the article, the new tattoos also line-up with acupuncture points and/or acupoint meridians that can be utilized to relieve pathological conditions, such as chest pain associated with gall stones and atherosclerosis. It is known that Otzi suffered from both of these problems. Nonetheless, the authors conclude: it cannot be ruled out that the Icemans [new] tattoos were indeed applied as a therapeutic treatment.
