And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God Ephesians 3:17-19 Lack of self worth can cause us to try to be what we are not. We carry the emotional wounds from our past or childhood into our relationship with God. God knows everything there possibly is to know about us, and loves us still. Our misconceptions about ourselves effect how we react to and receive the fullness of God’s love. We find it difficult to comprehend God’s love when we can’t love ourselves. God has expressed His love through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. In accepting His gift we discover that we are not only able to be true to ourselves but we are able to receive and share the love of God with others. Prayer We thank you for your everlasting love. Help us to see ourselves through your eyes. Heal the wounds of the past and strengthen us. Help us to accept and experience the fullness of your love so that it reflects in all that we do. Bring us to the fullness of who we truly are in Christ Jesus, Amen.
