And he asked me if I had a gift to give, and I responded, “I barely make enough for my family.” From within you can mend a quarrel, seek a friend you’ve forgotten, or hug someone tightly. You can forgive an enemy, be calm in the rage of someone’s anger, or express true appreciation. You can put warmth in the heart of a child, fulfill a promise made, say three words with dedication. You can be kind to a stranger, feel someone’s pain, you can smile and laugh; then laugh some more. You can take a walk with a friend, touch your pet, forget who you are and this time you hold the door. You can say you’re sorry, pray for that special one, the one that pieced it together when it was all torn. You’ve got so much to give endlessly, don’t look to the world look inside, for with these you were born.
