And here are my thoughts to those that have commented on that link below: I think everyone should be a bit more sensitive and considerate to what we are experiencing as if it were any other natural disaster happening in the states. Its not about drinking all the beer in the barracks and this being a light party event. Some people are really experiencing seriousness here. When I hear the news about moments like this in America I dont take it lightly, I think of the families and the people and what they have gone through. And for us locals, civilians living off base with our families, its pretty scary especially if you grew up here and have seen some terrifying typhoons. Just sharing from a non- drinking-non partying perspective. There are other people that live on Okinawa who are not as fortunate to live in secured barracks buildings and who take events like this seriously. As we would a stateside blizzard, hurricane, tornadoes, earthquake seriously.
