And now, this rant: Now that NYU has cancelled the Ghana campus, my flight has changed to the 18th of August, rather than the 16th. According to the office of housing, my summer housing assignment only extends to the 16th. This means that because of a decision NYU has made, I will not have a place to stay for two nights in NYC. I called the housing office, and the kind woman on the phone assured me that even if I was to submit an appeal, I would surely be denied. She kept insisting that she was sorry, but that there was nothing she could do. I have put up with a lot of shit about NYU, from lack of financial aid to a ridiculously inefficient bureaucracy. After this most recent ordeal, I am THIS close to leaving this school and ending this unbelievable charade of trying to deal with what is meant to be one of the top schools in the country. I love the friends Ive made at NYU, I love the film program and the professors and the classes Ive gotten to take. Yet dealing with the school itself has been one of the most frustrating, time consuming and expensive aspects of my life. This has been a rant by Granger Willson. Thank you for listening.
