I have an issue thats worth discussing. Im now seeing the news posted by President Obama. He says he will be signing an Executive Order to allow law enforcement agencies (i.e., police) to employ officer-mounted body cameras while on duty. They are writing up this 3-year, $263 million grant program to ensure that police officers wear body cameras. The problem is that the grant only covers 50,000 body cameras while there are a total of 630,000 police officers nationwide. They say its a voluntary program. Wouldnt it be nice if each and every police officer be equipped with a body camera? Will it be effective? Or can they find ways to stay corrupted despite wearing a body camera? Can the citizens of the United States use their phone camera to video-record them when they are confronted? What if they say they wont consent to videotaping??? Im just wondering....how effective all this will be???
