And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him,and said unto him, The LORD is with thee,thou mighty man of valour. And the LORD looked upon him,and said, Go in this thy might,and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?(Judges 6 vs 12,14). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. In our Focal Scripture, when God was separated from Israel on account of their sin,an angel appeared to Gideon and announced that God is with him. So, in the same nation that God abandoned, God was with Gideon. In the midst of the people who were far from God,God was with Gideon. In a nation that was dysfunctional,Gideon was significantly different from the others. Notice that when God laid out the plan for Israels deliverance,Gideon was central to the plan. The same man who was different from the others became Gods channel to grant Israel deliverance. The same man who was different from the rest eventually turned around to make a difference in his nation. Isnt it true that sometimes, we seek to make a difference without really being different from others? Sometimes, we are caught in the same bondages, failures, inconsistencies, imperfections etc that we want to conquer around us. We seek to be solutions yet we are indeed a part of the problem. Friend,God says,before you can make a difference, you need to be different. The Impact you wish to make needs to begin within you. The change you want in the society needs to be evident in you. The change you want to see in your family or marriage must start with you. You have spoken enough about change; be the change! You cannot pull your generation out of a trap if you are caught in the same trap! Pray with me,Lord,help me to be the difference that my generation needs in Jesus name.
