(Anders) Queens Park Rangers and Fulham have joined the race to sign SC Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason, SportsDirect News can reveal. The Iceland international joined the Dutch club last summer and has been in fantastic goalscoring form ever since moving to the Abe Lenstra Stadium. The 24-year-old scored 24 Eredivise goals in 33 games last term and has started the current campaign with nine strikes in just six league matches. Cardiff City reportedly were making attempts to sign the forward over the summer and Newcastle United will allegedly make a move for his signature in January. A source close to the player has now revealed QPR and Fulham are both looking to bring Finnbogason to England. QPR are expected to make a bid for the prolific frontman when the January transfer window opens but the Championship club should expect competition from the Cottagers who are also keeping tabs on the Iceland international.
