Animate beings are divided into various species/naw and genus/jins - TopicsExpress

Animate beings are divided into various species/naw and genus/jins on the basis of their essential differentia/fasl and limitation/hadd. Both differentia/fasl and limitation/hadd distinguish a being of a particular genus/jins and species/naww from that of another and define its limits in terms of what it is and what it is not. Therefore only finite and limited beings have an essence/mahiya and can be defined and described by naming what they are(differentia) and what they are not(hadd),therefore a being that has no limits/hadd to its attributes of perfection cannot be said to belong to any specific genus/jins or species/naww and consequently is devoid of any essence. In case there are more than one eternal beings so both will have to be necessary existents (wajib al wujud),and in that case god will no longer remain unique and will become similar in being a necessary existent to its co-eternal thereby rendering for him a species/naww and this is inadmissible as this idea will lead to simulation or tashbeeh of the divine being with another and hence can only be described as Associationism/shirk.
