Anna, in search of a good political script. - TopicsExpress

Anna, in search of a good political script. Anna, in search of a good political script. I feel sorry for Anna, he is being what he is. A father figure, epitome of truth, synonym for virtues, reincarnation of many scared souls, I am short of adjectives . Anna is slowly finding himself the political space place, he is comfortable with. He even started lying in Public for survival . Politically or sociologically unaffordable to any Gandhian. All shocked to see that he is not ashamed to confess that he had to skip Mamta rally for poor crowd turn out. Earlier version was his physical unfitness, a reason which can be sold easily. We lawyers sell it to the judges even for simple adjournments. I find in Anna, a politically immature and susceptible personality, a point he is bent upon proving before the Nation. In the beginning, it was all as per the script. Kiran Bedi and Yoga Instructor Ramdev, to an extent, could navigate him to their destiny. Then it was the turn of Gen V K Singh. Anna, who was a Jawan in Indian Army started enjoying the company of a retired General, who was desperately looking for a placement in public space. He missed no opportunity to snub Kejariwal for jumping into politics, more than his hatred towards politics, it was more of a desperation towards latter’s growing popularity ….our own ‘perunthachan syndrome’. Finally, he found truth in Autocratic Mamta, he felt her as ‘lady Mahatma’, simple saree, chapples, but she too, failed him for flocking just 4000 ( there is dispute about numbers) people for his much publicised Delhi Rally. Amna, a card holder of ‘Soft Hindutva’ for sure, will soon find virtues in Modi .. it is a mater of time and natural choice. I read somewhere a comment saying that old man was used by everyone. May be true and what is more true is that he permitted to be used. He was showcased effectively by Kejariwal and team, and ironically teaching media to call them as ‘ team anna’. Anna, with basic knowledge about law and politics courageous enough to talk authentically about a watershed anti-corruption legislation, the country was just short of saying ‘ Anna lokpal Act’ . His artificially constructed aura made even a former Supreme Court judge of repute, a listener, in law making process. Anna, grew day by day in few weeks and months, more than what he could grow in good seven decades in life. Political pundits say. During the height of Anna Movement, I took my eight year old daughter to Jantar Mantar, a political lesson I was trying teach her. I must teach her the ‘chapter two’ of the lesson in due course … that this old man was not standing for ‘ secular, democratic republic ‘ the key constitutional values. I must thank Kejariwal and his team for breaking away for the very reason.
