Anon asks Looking for some words of wisdom from other mums who may have had a baby who doesnt sleep well...ever! My tounge tied, refluxy boy has never slept well. Poor wee guy has had so much going on for him since birth including a skull fracture at birth - that most of his day time naps have been on me (he sometimes likes the moby and other times hates it) and even then wakes after 45mins and is impossible to get back to sleep and screams to get out of moby or for me to stand up and walk around. It would take me about that time of rocking, shoshing and patting to finally get him to sleep in the first place. I know hes tired because hes cranky a lot! He doesnt like being left alone for even 2mins while I brush my teeth and just wants me to carry him over my shoulder all day. My only saviour was he was an ok night sleeper. He didnt like co sleeping (didnt want to be next to me wanted to be on me!) and again only liked being held at night which was ok some days but Im paranoid well have a sleep accident and now hes 13 weeks I cant keep holding him asleep Im totally shattered! So we have him in a hammock next to me. He would usually wake around 3am with bad tummy pains but I was prepared for that and usually had an ok sleep up until then. Anyway now he is suddenly waking up every hour at night! Hes not hungry at all but wakes up thrashing about and crying and needs me pick him up and spend 40mins rocking him back to sleep! Im shattered! Ive even got the white noise going on in our room which my husband cant sleep to driving him out of our room! I do t know what to do. Im becoming a mother that I dont want to be. Grumpy and over it. I feel Ive tried everything and nothing works! Ive read now about a 4month sleep regression which maybe hes having (not that he was a great sleeper to start with) and Google warns me that what I do during this time will become habit!? So lost, anyone ever been in the same boat? Ive also just started cutting dairy and wheat to see if that helps his reflux and sore tummy. From a super exhausted mummy. TIA
