Anonymous MOM posted: question for all kids that are fed via tube overnight... my 14 mo old has been in a danny sling at a 45-70 degree angle depending on how bad he is gagging on his own secretions (nothing is fed by g).. just saliva and bile which still can be an issue quite randomly/frequently. We were under care at another hospital from april - october and then our current hospital (october - current). when i say hospital I also refer to the specialty clinics/drs that associate.... I do a good job at mentioning all the little things the other hospital had us doing and questions I use to ask them...re ask the new drs as we were NOT satisifed with old care and we ARE satisifed with new care. same goes with trust.... however some things get lost in transistion of hospitals as my son is unique and rare so there is a lot of info being exchanged... and I am only human... I failed to mention ever that he was in a danny sling.... and apparently they shouldnt be after 6 months due to tightening the belt too tight around the abdominal region where you can cut off breathing quite easily of a 14 mon old or younger or older especially if htey cant full move... so bye bye danny sling and hello flexi trak and duo derm and no sting barrier and tegaderm mix of tapes again for anchors on the tummy for hte micky g/j both the g vent and the j feed. goodby angel which i now know isnt better for his reflux not caused by reflux gig... however hello tangling body by flipping and moving and tossing and turning with the tube (I AM SCAREd on STRANGULATION OR MORE PROCEDURES FOR NEW TUBES)... and hello feeding the bed rather than jackson and I also cant have easy access anymore to the tube to clean the feeding bag so i just add milk to prevent waking him up which isnt sanitary for me... not a fan on my day 2 of no danny sling. that tube is usually pretty sedentary as he was such a calm peaceful sleeper now he has arms thru the crib and head at the railling and face planted into the bed.. oh man.. any normal kid fine but medical kid with a tube attached... ahhhhhh......... lol ... how do you moms do it with kids similar (i am sure different) issues.... tube moms? need tips..... please and thank you!
