Anonymous: My son was doing this for a while. Hes in his 20s and he had to go to rehab for it. They said he was the first person they ever heard of that had to go to rehab for spice (synthetic marijuana). When I took him to our family physician for something else during the time he was smoking it, his heart rate was all over the place. The doctor was extremely concerned. His kidneys had also started to fail and his urine looked like a dark beer according to the nurse and doctor. He was so addicted that he began stealing everything he could get his hands on to get money for more, just like a crack addiction. He stole my entire coin collection that my late father had left me when he died and pawned the coins for the silver and was paid large amounts in separate transactions at at least 3 different local pawn shops. He about robbed us blind to support his habit. His personality was MEAN. He was like a wild man at times. I became scared of him. We didnt know him anymore. PTL he got off that stuff nearly 3 years ago and has left it alone. His heart rate at his last doctors visit was normal and his kidneys were normal, too. Hes back to being the young man we knew and loved. Not long after he stopped smoking it, he was at a friends house and there was a guy there smoking it. The guy went home that night, laid down in bed and was found dead the following morning. His heart had stopped from smoking spice. Please, if you know anyone who smokes spice TELL THEM PLEASE GET HELP BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. SPICE is DANGEROUS and no matter what you hear, it IS ADDICTIVE!!! It was made illegal in our state, Georgia, in 2012. The people who make it simply changed the formulation of it, just barely making it legal, and continued selling it. You can still buy spice in the stores in Georgia. I know. Ive seen it and my son has told me. It needs to be completely BANNED no matter what formulation it is. It is very deadly.
