Another Award! As Council Chairman, I received countless awards from reputable organisations. Those who gave me awards, and some of them are here, will testify that you need to convince me on why I deserved the award before my acceptance. There were various offers of awards, including doctorate degrees, that I created an auto route to the trash bin for. However, what I never envisaged was that I will still be receiving awards more than four years after leaving office. For this, I am humbled. I got a call during the week from a representative of SOS Village, Owu Ijebu, that I am to be honoured with an award. Trust me, I pleaded with the man not to be annoyed as I replied: what for? Why am I been honoured? The man did not reply my text, he called to tell me that from the records of the SOS Village, Owu Ijebu, I am the most supportive Council Chairman. It is God that guided and is still guiding my steps. To Him belong all the credits. I thank the Board, Management and Staff of SOS Children Village, Owu Ijebu. I dedicate this award to my late mentor, Mrs Remi Oyo.
