Another Milestone Achieved - Students of MS Department of CIIT Abbottabad grab First Position in Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge (PEC) 2014 Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge was organized by Preston University, Islamabad on 25-16 April 2014 at Preston University, Islamabad. A 4 member team from Department of Management Sciences, CIIT Abbottabad comprising Miss Ramla Shafique, Miss Ayesha Mehmood, Mr. Shehroz Jadoon and Mr. Zakir Ali, all from BBA-7 participated in the event. In the qualifying round, they competed with 70 teams from more than 40 universities. In the final round, Management Sciences team from CIIT Abbottabad competed with LUMS, NUST, Quaid-i-Azam University, Lahore School of Economics, PIDE, University of Central Punjab, Iqra University, CASE Business School & PIEAS, Islamabad. The final round consisted of the following 6 activities: Stakeholder Conference Elevator Pitch Competition Business Plan Competition Business Quiz Junk Yard Activity Launch Pad. The Management Sciences team from CIIT Abbottabad stood first in 3 activities including Elevator Pitch, Business Quiz and Launch Pad and was declared as overall winner of Preston Entrepreneurial Challenge 2014.The team was awarded cash prize of Rs. 100,000 whereas Rs.350,000 were given as seed money and CEO of Afro Pvt. Ltd. and CEO of Nehmat Pvt. Ltd. each announced Rs. 25,000 cash prize for the winning team. In addition to these cash prizes, eminent investors of Pakistan (including president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, CEO AFRO Pvt Ltd and CEO Nemat Pvt Ltd.) showed their interest to make investment on the said plan.
