Another amazing and satisfying day with the kids. Landen had his 8th birthday a few weeks back, but I havent gotten him any thing specifically for his birthday. Near the end of the day today, I asked him what he really wanted. His answer both broke my heart and made it swell with joy. You see, his mom has decided to wait until after soccer season and throw him a skating party. His answer for what he really wanted was for me to be there. That was all. Parents, if you dont believe that the time you give is more important than the store bought stuff, you are sadly mistaken. Spend some time. And I dont mean to just simply be there and on your phone texting or whatever. I mean your uncontested time. No outside interference. No doing it just because the court said you are supposed to. I mean really do it. If you give them your love and your time, you have given them all that they desire. Period. It doesnt take much effort. Give them you. Give them your knowledge. Give them everything that is within you to give. That is the gift they not only want, but more importantly, they deserve it. Love is the answer. On any test you take about life that has multiple choice answers, the answer is always love. My love to all.
