Another fake journalist running fake Facebook page Namely News trust of India. Interviewing politicians for facebook, demands money, threats scribe for attempting story SRINAGAR: Taking undue advantages of Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly elections scheduled to be held this month according to reports some persons interviewing politicians, taking bytes and posting it on facebook page for ulterior motives. As per reports these persons are roaming also in press enclave, press conferences, election campaign rallies and are spotted in and around residences, offices of different politicians, political parties. After a thorough investigation it was found that a facebook page titled ‘Times Now J&K’ where these persons are uploading video interviews, photographs under the very nose of authorities and journalists who seem mute spectators to the grave concern of fourth estate. It was also found that these scribes upload photographs of politicians while interviewing them to create an impression in the society like they are journalists. Meanwhile these persons also issued a threat to the national television bureau head Irfan Quraishi who was working on the story for an attempt to expose them. When contacted politicians whom they have interviewed they said that initially they were confused that they are from national news channel Times Now but latter it was found they are not associated with any media organization. Sanjay Saraf Lok Jan Shakti party leader said that these persons said they are operating facebook page and working for passion. He added social networking is powerful now a days and that is why he (Sanjay) gave interview to them. However another leader from national Conference whom they have interviewed on condition of anonymity said that they are demanding money for interview adding that they (interviewers) said this is how they work. NC leader said that media fraternity should look in to it before it will defame honest working journalists here. Journalist’s fraternity expressed a serious concern over the issue saying that they carry no mike id or identity card of any organization, but interestingly managed to line up and interview politicians of different political parties, which mess up media image in society adding that it affects the media credibility. Times Now Bureau Head, Mir Fareed when contacted said i have also received same complaints about these persons and the page. He added that these persons are misusing the name of Times Now News channel adding that times now will also file formal complaint against these fake scribes before police. Spokesperson of Electronic Media Association, Shuja-Ul-Haq said that if anyone is misguiding general public or politicians on pretext of being media person, it is liable to legal action adding that politicians should verify the credentials of persons before making sure it is a media person. On issuing a unacceptable phone call trying to threat, Shuja said the association will take it seriously and will action against these persons. It was found on Times Now J&K facebook page that they have interviewed Peoples Democratic Party senior leader and Member of Parliament Tariq Hamid Karah, National Conference provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, National Conference general Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, Lok Jan Shakti party Sanjay Saraf and BJP leader Dr. Hina Bhat, National Conference leader Sarah Hayat Shah, National Conference senior leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Zadibal Pir Afaq, congress Leader Sheikh Aamir Rasool. The interviews conducted by these scribes in Kashmiri and Urdu were posted on the Facebook page only. Surprisingly the politicians interviewed by these scribes are yet to know about the bad joke. Pertinently mushroom growth of facebook news pages has created dangers of misinformation while unauthorized websites have affected the credibility and working of authentic media. Another Facebook page news trust of India starts and miss behave with youth journalist page is running by some aqib zarger and upload news without any authentication.
