A preliminary public hearing will be held in Port Moresby on August 22nd (Friday) beginning at 9:30 am. Commissioner Andrews will be assisted by lawyers John Griffin Q.C and Phillip Tabuchi. The Commission of Inquiry was directed by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill in July to investigate all payments to lawyers and law firms by the State. O’Neill is also alleged to have been involved in authorising millions of kina in payments to prominent lawyer Paul Paraka through his law firm, Paraka Lawyers.
