Another of my stories ^^ old one but I was reminiscing on good times :)) Awakened The sun was setting in far horizon; the skies were mixed with most beautiful colors she had seen since the time of her “birth”. Light yellows and pastel pinks with a mix of light orange were amidst. She was truly enchanted by the beauty of the sunset. She looked down at her hands as she picked up the clear cold water of the pond and splashed in on her face. She shut her eyes as a reflex the minute the water made contact with her face. She looked up; astonished but somehow refreshed. Looking down into her reflection, she noticed her gaze was distant, unknown. She hardly recalled who she was or what she was doing on this mysterious space. She stood up swiftly and gaze at the horizon again. Mesmerized by the true arts of the world, she lost herself in thought again. She was so lost that perhaps she’d miss judgment day if it fell upon her. Her eternal gaze was not to last, alas, she was awaken from the trance as she heard thundering sounds approaching. She debated whether to concern herself with the world going on far beyond her little pond; her “birthing” nest. If the world was so enchanting on her “birthing” nest, then maybe, far beyond it was as magical and enlightening as her little old “birthing” nest. So with her mind made up she ran into the woods. Allowing the leaves of nearby trees gently brush against her bare thighs. Her movements were swift, gently and completely strange to her. Her mind and body were two complete different things. She felt as she herself was moving so quick that her mind had a hard time keeping up with her. Trees passed by her, looking like blurs through her re-born eyes. She ran as far as she could more than she ever realize and moved from her “safety” zone. She was part of the far beyond, part of the world that was unknown. She stopped to look back, trying to find her “birthing” nest. Like a frightened bird that had lost its nest she looked around her trying to find her path home. To no availed she had two choices to make in that moment. She could move far beyond, migrate into the unknown or go back. Go back into her “safety” ring, were her life was rich with mysteries, where there was no unknown, where the sun was her father and the moon was her mother. She felt cold at that moment; realized she no longer was at the grip of her “parents”. No longer was she allowed to feel the safety of her home. She realized then and there that no longer did her choice exist. She felt exiled from her “birthing” nest. She had dissolved into a mere nothing in the unknown. Her mind was spinning; almost at the brink of insanity. The thought of being away from her “birthing” nest was too much to process on her confused mind. She tried to find a last ray of father or maybe mother’s new risen light; but no help came. The high and mighty bodies of the trees blocked her mother from view. She knew that sun had gone a long time ago, so father was in its slumber until the yet to come morning. The high trees were mocking her stupidity. They were ancient Gods condemning her for stepping far from her sanctuary. She felt sick, alone, lost. She gulped down what was left of her sanity and stepped forward. Ashamed of herself and forsaken; she stepped forward into what might as well been her doom. She grasped all that was the New World. If her “birthing” nest was no longer hers to cherish, then why not choose another? In that moment, and that moment alone, with no sense of direction, with no fear of the beyond, she continued walking into what would later become her new reality; her new “birthing” nest. Was she stepping into the gates of hell, she would never know until she stepped closer to the beyond. She let the wind guide her and with a new wondering, free spirit; she could at last say she had awakened.
