Another unarmed black guy killed by police today? WTF. Its time for mandatory cameras on cops. For the sake of cops and for the sake of the society they are supposed to protect. I know its ridiculously naive to say this but I suspect if there was a kickstarter to fund mandatory cameras showing what the police are doing it would be funded almost immediately. Id donate. And if I were a cop Id want to have a camera to back up my story and also to keep shitty cops from making it hard for me to do my job. Put that footage on a live-stream and let the public watch whats going on on our streets. Give the public the ability to vote a cop off the streets and onto desk duty Survivor-Style if they seem unstable or overly aggressive. Let watchers commend those who do great work so we can regain faith in a system that seems so very flawed right now. I know its a naive and flippant option for a complicated issue, but goddam...something has to change.
