Another update on Miller, SD - Hes resting better today and is making considerable effort to get mobile. His pain levels seem under control now (with pain medication) and he is at least trying to get up and move around again. I have noticed he is starting to try and care for his own injuries - problem is this is not a good thing with sutures and drain tubes - With a sizable drain in his neck a E-collar is not very feasible (at this point) so in a effort to limit or prevent licking/digging at his injuries I have dressed him in one of the shirts I use for reassurance training and thus far it seems to be doing the trick. Ive been checking the drains in his neck and in his chest and neither seem to be becoming irritated from the shirt, though, I am a little concerned over the tightness of the shirt across his chest but will keep monitoring them for any signs of aggravation or irritation and will adjust as needed if issues start developing :)
