Another video glimpse from D-Day 70, shot by Jay Wertz. This https://youtube/watch?v=aM3leQyxwr0 is a window depicting Saint Michael the Archangel surrounded by symbols of the Allied liberation forces that assaulted Normandys Nazi-German-held coastline on June 6, 1944. The window is in the church in the village of Sainte-Mère-Église, where US 505th Parachute Infantry troops jumped in before dawn. Paratrooper John Steele witnessed the sharp battle that followed with German occupiers from the churchs steeple, where his parachute had caught. He was captured but escaped.
