The last show of the year was Saturday night (which means my last flight of the year was Sunday morning 125,000+ miles in the air this year). There is always one Saturday every year that is the hot date for events in December. This year it was December 13th. We could have sold it six times! My client knew this and the booking is a case study on how to secure the entertainment you want and leave as little to chance as possible. Each year this company stages an Annual Meeting in December. They take this meeting very seriously. In May, a representative flew out to preview my show in person and booked it immediately -- 7 months in advance. Due to the uncertainty of winter travel, the client had me come in a day early to make certain I was on site. I was in town 33 hours before show time. There is a charge for this (typically 50% of the gross fee) as I had to turn down work December 12th as well (we could have sold that date three times). However, my client felt the extra charge was worth the peace of mind. I worked to an audience of nearly 1000 people and received a standing ovation. Great last show of 2014! Some down time now before I leave January 2nd for my first international tour of 2015 which will take me to Bahrain, Greece, Italy and Spain.
