Antarctica, also known as the Earths southernmost Antalya Curtis California is located in the continent of Antarctica. It is located in the southern hemisphere, the Antarctic area, almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle are surrounded by the Southern Ocean. Antarcticas land area of about 14 million square kilometers (5.4 million square miles), is the worlds five continents, ranked sequentially after Asia, Africa, North America and South America. About 98% of the area of Antarctica is covered by ice, ice thickness average of 1,600 meters (1.0 miles).
