Anticipating big changes in the ASEAN The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is gearing towards economic integration which is an imminent change that would affect businesses positively and also negatively come 2015 or 2020 (which is the original deadline). With it, free flow of goods and services (having zero or lesser tariffs) could happen and skilled workers would have the opportunity to find jobs among member nations of the ASEAN. The earlier the family businesses would become aware of this major change, the greater advantage they could have on learning how they would adapt, and become resilient when the economic integrations’ negative impacts occur. By doubling their efforts to ride with the change, there is hope to survive the competition./PN
